The baroque church of St. Mary (St. Marien) is an important ecclesiastical monument in Königsstein because of its beautiful high altar. The high altar has been created by Johann Peter Jäger (1708-1790) is one of the most important works in the field of altar building during the Rococo period in the Middel Rhine region.
